MOVEMENTS
All watches can be conditionally divided on two categories: mechanical and quartz watches
In quartz watches the timing is insured by a generator with quartz crystals. In usual quartz watches the source of energy is a battery. Usually the life cycle of a battery is from 1 till 6 years.
Reliable movement and nickel battery have a long life cycle , because, quartz movement as it is known don’t need service. It doesn’t need adjustment and lubrication. Quartz movement is more strong against stresses and vibration.
Quartz movement has following advantages:

In mechanical watches the timing is insured by a device balance-spiral. Mechanical watches are divided on watches with manual and automatic winding.
In watches with manual winding the wind-up of the spring is made manually by rotation of the crown. Such watches have usually a more thin case.
In watches with automatic winding the wind-up of the spring is made by device of self-winding because of motion of hand during wearing of a watch.
The main advantage of mechanical watch is its belonging to the category of “ageless values”. “Living mechanism”, manual assembly, rich history which throws back to distant past, the history is the main advantage of this kind of movements.
Mechanical wrist watches

Have 15 ruby jewels with shockproof device. The rate of watches from the full winding of the spring is not less, than 38 hours. . Mean daily rate is from –40 to +85 sec/day.
ATTENTION! DO NOT TRY TO MAKE WINDING OF THE SPRING OF MOVEMENT AGAINST THE STOP, THIS INVOLVE THE PREMATURE FAILURE OF IT.
Movement 2609(produced by O.J.-S.C. “MWP”)
Have 16 ruby jewels with central second hand and shockproof device. The rate of watches from the full winding of the spring is not less, than 42 hours. . Mean daily rate is from –20 to +60 sec/day.
Movement 2616M (Automatic winding) –Miyota (made in Japan)
Have 22 ruby jewels with shockproof device. The rate of watches from the full winding of the spring is not less, than 33 hours. .Backup of duration of automatic winding is not less than 24 hours after 10 hours of wearing of the watch on hand. Mean daily rate is from –20 to +60 sec/day.
During everyday wearing the watch don’t need a winding. The work of watch is assured by the device of automatic winding in consequence of motion of hand when wearing a watch. If the watch was not weared on the hand during more than 24 hours, it needs winding by crown in a clockwise direction (20-30 revolutions).

Quartz wrist watches

With central second hand, with calendar of date and day of week, and also accelerated adjustment of date and day of week. Supports impacts of repeated shocks with acceleration 150 m/sec² and duration of shocks from 2 to 15 msec. Mean daily rate is ±2sec/day.

The crown can be in three fix positions: 1 – home positions, 2 – intermediate position (for correcting of date and day of week), 3- the most distant position from the case ( for operation of hands).
For setting of current time it is necessary to pull the crown in position 3 when the second hand is under the numeral “12” (the watch stops). By rotation of the crown you can set minute and hour hands on good time. According to radio signal you must start running the watch by give back the crown to the position 1. After one second the first jump of second hand will happen. If the time is set in the other half of the day, it is necessary to set before the hour hand on 12 hours forward, for change of indication of calendar being in the midnight.
For correcting of date and day of week pull the crown from the position 1 to position 2. By smooth rotation of the crown to yourself you can correct the date, from yourself – you can correct the day of week ( at that the watch don’t stop).
When settings of current date and day of week are over, the crown must be returned to the position 1.

With central second hand, with calendar of date and day of week indicated by hands, with analog indicator of day and night time (the scale of 24 hours) and also with accelerated correcting of date and day of week. Supports impacts of repeated shocks with acceleration 150 m/sec² and duration of shocks from 2 to 15 msec. Mean daily rate is ±2sec/day.
Battery: Renata 371.

The watches for blind people is equipped with this movement (Braile watches). The particularity of the movement – reinforced center of attachement of hands, which allows to know the time by the touch when the cover of watch is opened.

The accuracy of response of the signal is ±6 minutes.
Battery: type AA (LR6), voltage 1,5 V.
Running time is not less, than 12 months from the day of mounting of the battery.
The setting of time operation of the alarm is made by rotation of the button of operating of signal hand to the direction, indicated on the cover of case. Switching on of the signal device or forced deactuation of the signal take place by the moving of the arm in accordance with marking on the back cover of the alarm-clock.
